Year 7 Top up Funding
The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives state-funded schools, including special schools and alternative provision settings, additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2).
During the year 2016/17 school received £7000. Detailed below is how school allocated the funding to support Literacy and Numeracy.

ChatAble on iPad. ChatAble is a grid and scene communication app, combining AAC methods and allowing for more comprehensive communication.
Sensory literacy boxes set up – to develop handwriting and fine motor control, reading.
Sensory boxes set up - support students with SPD increase concentration, calmness and engagement.
Wireless Switch and receiver for 6 x classes. Allowing student to access the class PC more independently.
Objects of reference photos verbs, adjectives and nouns resource cards made up.

Twinkl resources yearly subscription supporting teaching staff in creating fun resources for Literacy and Numeracy.
Access to the schools Learning mentor for Literacy or Numeracy 1:1 sessions.
During the year 2016/17 year 7 made 83% progress in Reading and 100% progress in Writing, Communication and Maths.
