About Oakfield Park
Oakfield Park School is an LEA maintained school providing education for young people aged 11 to 19 years with Complex Learning Difficulties or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. Many of our pupils have additional needs including Autism, sensory impairment, challenging behaviour, medical and physical difficulties.
Our school community is diverse and young people attend from across the Wakefield Metropolitan District. At Oakfield Park we provide a safe and supportive school environment which is both educationally stimulating and appropriately challenging, thus providing optimum conditions for learning, personal development and achievement.
Our staff team is committed to working in partnership with parents and a range of fellow professionals to ensure the highest standards of care and education are in place for each individual. Our staff are highly skilled and experienced in meeting the complex needs of all our young people.
Collaboration is at the heart of all we do and the whole school community is committed to celebrating diversity and working with other schools and professional partners.
The curriculum is extended and enriched through a variety of opportunities including offsite learning, residential visits, links and learning with mainstream partners, social and recreational studies, after school clubs and outdoor learning.
We welcome parents and visitors to come into school and meet our young people and the staff team.
